On the evening of September 23, BLCU held it's third English competition in the Yifu
Building's lecture hall. Twelve contestants from different departments engaged in the fierce
competition. The contest's first round began with the already determined topic of
discussion. The contestants expressed their views on the following topic: “Nuclear Power:
Blessing or Disaster to Humankind?” The contestants spoke in fluent and confident oratory
styles that won enthusiastic applauses from the audience.
Ultimately, Yu Pei Yu and Cheng Xiao who are from School of International Business were
awarded the first prize. As the representatives of BLCU, they will respectively move on to
participate in the Beijing Capital third English Speech Contest and the Foreign Language
National University English Speech Competition.
